Job Summary:
 
IT Veterans is currently seeking a talented GPON Network Administrator for future opportunities.  The ideal candidate will be interested in gaining experience working with PON & GPON technologies. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve faults and isolations within the  network infrastructure
  • Demonstrate advanced network troubleshooting techniques
  • Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures
  • Assist in the development of the policies and procedures as they pertain to the network environment
  • Manage resource availability across the network enterprise
  • Create and report all outage notifications and network-related issues in accordance with standard operating procedures and guidelines
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of operating systems and applications as they pertain to the network environment
  • Participate in engineering projects or upgrades
  • Interface with vendors to ensure proper performance of tools and software packages
  • Track and process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI's)
  • Provide After Action Reports (AARs) for Problem Management resolution
  • Have good communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills, and follow through
  • May be required to provide clear written documentation on network procedures
  • Must be able to analyze network performance, conduct statistical tests and create solutions to network problems, often highly complex in nature
  • Creates new solutions to network problems and is detail oriented and organized; able to understand network measurement criteria and be exact in assessments
  • Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
  • Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of network analysis
  • Pull, install, terminate, and test CAT 6 and fiber optic cabling in new or existing spaces.

Required Qualifications:
  • TS/SCI clearance with the ability to gain and maintain a CI Poly.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD 8570 approved IAT II level certification
