Job Summary:
 
IT Veterans is currently seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer (Secure Wireless) with an active TS clearance. 
To be successful in this position you need to be collaborative and willing to work within a team.  While you will need to be a self-starter completing tasks on your own, working together is critical in this role.  You will be interfacing with the client and senior staff.  Therefore, you should be articulate in your communications because your opinion matters.  You will need to explain technical intricacies in a way that is easily understood. This position includes engineering/design, development of Bill of Materials, installation of equipment (including in ceilings), technical documentation/drawings, operation and troubleshooting/restoral.


Responsibilities:
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
  • Physical media (Cat5/5e/6/6a, fiber optics (singlemode and multimode), transceivers (GBIC, SFP, X2, etc.)
  • LAN switching (VLANs, Spanning Tree, 802.1q (Trunking), Port Aggregation)
  • Routing (Interior Gateway Protocols & Exterior Gateway Protocols)
    • OSPF
    • EIGRP
    • BGP
    • Static Routing
  • Multicasting
  • Subnetting (VLSM)
  • Access control lists
  • VPN: (Site to Site and Client based VPN),IPSec and SSL
  • DNS and DHCP
  • SNMP
  •  Troubleshoot and develop recommendations to resolve network problems such as bandwidth bottlenecks and server downtime.

    • Cisco ASA (ASDM) /FirePower FTD

    • Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) – Network Access Control
    • Visio

    • Aruba
Required Qualifications:
  • TS/SCI clearance with the ability to gain and maintain a CI Poly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Certification Requirements:
  • Must have at least one CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP-ENT or similar network certification.
  • Must have at least one wireless (802.11) certification such as: CWNA, ACMX, CCNA Wireless or higher.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance and CI Poly
  • Must have and maintain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma + 14 years
• Associate's Degree + 12 years
• Bachelor's Degree + 10 years
• Master's Degree + 8 years
• PhD + 6 years
